Her father served in the Australian Imperial Force during the First World War and acquired farmland in Carnamah as a soldier settler ^[30]
Along with her mother and sister she caught the train from Perth to Perenjori in October 1923 to join her father and brother on the farm ^[30]
Resided with her parents on Lot 6 of the Inering Estate in Carnamah 1923-1925 ^{[30: item 13164147]}
After selling their farm in August 1925 they left Carnamah and shifted to South Perth ^{[30: item 13164147]}
Resided with her parents and grandmother at her grandmother's home at 25 Roseberry Avenue in South Perth ^[30]
Her father died aged 39 on 13 November 1925 and her mother at the age of 43 on 31 May 1928 ^[30]
When her mother died in 1928 her address was 34 Cardigan Terrace in the Perth suburb of Jolimont ^{[30: item 13164147]}
In 1929 she was working as a Stenographer and living at 14 Waylen Road in the Perth suburb of West Subiaco ^[50]
Married George Henry ZEPLIN in Perth in 1930 ^[66]
In 1931 she and her husband, who was working as a Salesman, were living at 29 Roseberry Avenue in South Perth ^[50]
