During the war, while her husband was overseas, she moved to 357 Hay Street in Perth and then to 3 May Avenue in Subiaco [30]
Her husband returned and was discharged in 1920 [30]
They resided at 3 May Avenue in the Perth suburb of Subiaco and at 36 Hanover Street in North Perth [30: item 13164147]
They resided on River Street in South Perth in 1921 and 1922 [6] and then on Roseberry Avenue in South Perth [30]
In 1923 her husband obtained the 1,176 acre Lot 6 of the Inering Estate in Carnamah through the Soldier Settlement Scheme [30]
Her husband and son shifted to the farm in May 1923 while she remained in Perth with their two daughters [30]
After a house was built on the farm she, along with their daughters and furniture, travelled from Perth to Perenjori by train [30]

After spending almost half of their money on her husband's funeral she had to take a job housekeeping on a station near Meekatharra [30]
The Department of Repatriation reimbursed her for £10 of the funeral expenses but declined her request for a war widow's pension [30]
It was ruled that her husband's war service was not a contributing factor to his death from tuberculosis [30]
The decision was later reversed, possibly helped by her mother's letter to a member of parliament who'd worked with her late father [30]
She then received a pension both for herself and her youngest daughter Deborah
