Daughter of William YATES and Sarah Jane WARREN [15]
Married George BRIMSON in 1896 in Guildford, Western Australia [15]
By 1908 was living with her husband and children in Three Springs [19]
Purchased Lots 44 and 45 of Victoria Location 2022 on the east side of the Three Springs townsite on 3 July 1909 [27]
     Purchased the two lots from the Midland Railway Company for £20, which she paid for by instalments over two years [27]
     By 1913 she had a house erected on one or over both of her two blocks in the Three Springs townsite [44]
Along with her two daughters attended the Sports Meeting held in Arrino on Easter Monday 1 April 1915 [10: 9-Apr-1915]
     On the way to Arrino the horse drawing their sulky fell and threw the three of them heavily onto the ground [10]
     They continued onto Arrino, however later on their way home the same thing happened, and she was run over by the sulky [10]
     The accident, which fortunately only gave her bad bruises, was believed to be due to a faulty design in the sulky [10]
While out riding in Three Springs on Sunday 21 April 1918 her horse stumbled and threw her heavily onto the ground [10: 26-Apr-1918]
     Fortunately there were witnesses to the accident, who rushed over and rendered first aid and helped relieve her suffering [10]
     As a result of being thrown she sustained a broken nose, cuts all over her face, bruised all over and suffered severe shock [10]
Later ran a boarding house and laundry in Three Springs for the local railway workers [P102]
She was thrown from her horse after it stumbled while carting water to her home in Three Springs in March 1923 [9: 23-Mar-1923]
     Received no serious injuries, however the tank of water was thrown onto her horse and was almost thrown onto herself [9]
Won 1st prize for Duck Eggs and 2nd for a Male Duck at the Three Springs Agricultural Show on 22 September 1932 [5: 30-Sep-1932]
She received instructions from the Three Springs Road Board that she wasn't allow to sell or give away milk [5: 25-Mar-1937]
     Previously she had given away milk to a returned solider and had also sold milk very cheaply to poorer parents with children [5]
     The Three Springs-Arrino Sub-Branch of the R.S.L. raised the issue with the Three Springs Road Board in March 1937 [5]
     In pointing out that their instructions had resulted in deprived nourishment the Road Board decided to pay her license fee of 2/7 [5]
Via the Three Springs-Arrino Sub-Branch of the R.S.L. she applied for permission to conduct a dairy in May 1937 [5]
     Owing to the form being incomplete the application was referred back to the Sub-Branch of the R.S.L. [5: 21-May-1937]
Motored to the Perth suburb of Midland Junction with her son Ernest and son-in-law Alfred HUNTER on Saturday 12 June 1937 [5]
     They made the trip after receiving a message by wireless that her sister Mrs Alice ROBERTSON was seriously ill [5]
     Her sister was a patient at Saint Andrew's Hospital in Midland Junction and was later reported to be beyond medical aid [5]
     Her son and son-in-law returned to Three Springs on 15 June 1937 however she remained in Midland Junction [5]
     Her sister passed away at 5 a.m. on Friday 18 June 1937, aged 51, and was buried at the Midland Cemetery [2] [5: 18 & 25-Jun-1937]
Said to have been able to ride up to a kangaroo on a horse, kill it with a stirrup and take it home on the horse [P102]
Resided in Three Springs until her death in 1946 [6] [24]

Died 27 April 1946 in Three Springs; buried at Three Springs General Cemetery, Three Springs (Methodist, Plot 21) [24]

Obituary - Mrs Fanny Jane Brimson - Death at Three Springs
"Under somewhat sudden circumstances, the death occurred on Saturday last of a very old and highly respected resident of Three Springs in the person of Mrs Fanny Jane Brimson. The deceased lady, who was sixty eight years of age, walked to the Road Board Hall at Three Springs during the day to record a vote in an election being conducted that day, and in the evening she complained of feeling cold and retired to her room, only to pass away almost immediately. The late Mrs Brimson had been a resident of Three Springs for forty years. She was known as a splendid horsewoman, and it was only within the past twelve months that she ceased active participation in kangaroo and duck shooting expeditions in the district. She was the mother of a large family comprising six daughters and four sons, these being Hilda (Mrs Knapp, Carnamah), Fanny (Mrs Mansfield, Midland Junction), Amy (Mrs Tonkin, Kalgoorlie), Rosey (Mrs A. Hunter, Three Springs), Leita (Mrs Emmett, Geelong, Victoria), Ivy (Mrs Wise, Perth), and Messrs Lionel Brimson and Ernest Brimson (Three Springs) and George and Albert Brimson (Pinjarra). The funeral took place at Three Springs on Monday last and was attended by a large and representative gathering. The pall bearers were Messrs R. J. Fogarty, C. Dodd, F. Kenworthy, H. W. Smith, W. D. S. Smith, C. F. Coffey, F. Connaughton and E. W. Franklin sen, and the casket bearers were Messrs A. Mortimer, A. W. Potts, H. R. Carter and A. E. Rojo. Many floral tributes were laid upon the grave, amongst them being those from:- Rose and Alf [Hunter] and family; Albert, Hilda, George and Flo; Ivy, Bill and Hazel [Wise]; Ernest [Brimson]; Norm and Mary; Susie, Nada and Derek; chairman, members and secretary of the Three Springs Road board; E. C. and J. F. Thomas; Mr and Mrs A. E. Saggers; Mr and Mrs C. F. Thomas and family; Mr and Mrs Jordan and Bill and Lyn; Dr and Mrs Mayrhofer and family; Mrs Dodd and Charlie; Franklin and Rojo; Mrs S. Maley and Ethel; Mr and Mrs J. J. Thorpe and family; Mr and Mrs S. J. Morgan and family; Mr and Mrs K. Bussenschutt; Alice Letch and family; R. J. Fogarty; Mrs P. Howard and family; Mrs Byrne and family; Mrs E. Duffy sen; Ted and Biddy [Duffy]; Saunders family; Knapp family; Mr and Mrs P. Brennan; Mr and Mrs F.
