In partnership himself and Maurice Henry ANCLIFFE purchased 3,001 acres of virgin land in Caron on 17 September 1928 [27]
The 3,001 acres was Lot M1779 of Victoria Location 2023 situated on the north side of the Caron Road [27] [62]
They purchased the land from the Midland Railway Company at a cost of £1500/10/- (10/- an acre), payable by instalments [27]

Farmed in partnership with Maurice Henry ANCLIFFE as "Ancliffe and Cave" 1929-1937 [6]
Although the farm was located at Caron in the Perenjori district, they were both known to be "of Carnamah" [6] [19]
He received his mail from Carnamah and was also enrolled to vote at Carnamah [6] [19]
They wrote to the Carnamah District Road Board in November 1928 requesting a road be made to the property [4: 1-Dec-1928]
They had an account with Carnamah blacksmith, wheelwright and motor mechanics Henry Parkin & Son in 1929 [53]
In 1929 their postal address was P.O. Box 60 at the Carnamah Post Office [53]
They purchased a new Chev 6 truck from Carnamah dealer Scott WYLIE in November 1929 [4: 9-Nov-1929]
During the Great Depression they went bankrupt and their estate was put under the management of a trustee [86: 20-Feb-1932]
Their trustee was Carnamah accountant John G. HUNTER [86], who absconded with money stolen from his clients [P399]
The local newspaper reported on 8 December 1933 that goods had arrived for them at the Carnamah Railway Station [5: 8-Dec-1933]

After 1933 he appears to have left the farm in Caron, with his farming partner Maurice H. ANCLIFFE remaining on the property [19]
The sale on their farm in Caron was rescinded by the Midland Railway Company on 17 March 1939 [27]
The Midland Railway Company subsequently resold the farm to Rupert J. CAMAC on 9 May 1940 [27]
