They purchased the land from the Midland Railway Company at a cost of £1500/10/- (10/- an acre), payable by instalments [27]

Although the farm was located at Caron in the Perenjori district, they were both known to be "of Carnamah" [6] [19]
He received his mail from Carnamah and was also enrolled to vote with an address of Carnamah [6] [19]
They wrote to the Carnamah District Road Board in November 1928 requesting a road be made to their property [4: 1-Dec-1928]
In 1929 they had P.O. Box 60 at the Carnamah Post Office [53]
They had an account with Carnamah blacksmith, wheelwright and motor mechanics Henry Parkin & Son in 1929 [53]
In November 1929 they purchased a new Chevrolet 6 truck from Carnamah dealer L. Scott WYLIE [4: 9-Nov-1929]
During the Great Depression they went bankrupt and their estate was put under the management of a trustee [86: 20-Feb-1932]
Their trustee was Carnamah accountant John G. HUNTER [86], who absconded with money stolen from his clients [P399]
The local newspaper reported on 8 December 1933 that goods had arrived for them at the Carnamah Railway Station [5: 8-Dec-1933]
Both he and Robert J. V. CAVE were on the farm until 1933, however from 1933 to 1939 it was just himself on the farm [19]

The sale of their farm was rescinded by the Midland Railway Company on 17 March 1939 [27]
The Midland Railway Company subsequently resold their former farm to Rupert J. CAMAC on 9 May 1940 [27]
His former wife Mrs Eleanor Jane ANCLIFFE married Herbert James DOYLE in Perth in 1946 [2] [66]
His uncle William John HASTINGS passed away on 29 September 1953 and was buried at the Anglican Cemetery in Beverley [138]
Later resided in the Perth suburb of Gosnells [2]
Died 26 August 1974; buried at Karrakatta Cemetery in Perth, Western Australia (Anglican, PE, 50) [2]
