Mr Bothe proposed the toast of the guest of honour, calling on Mr Geoff John to respond. After lighting the 21 candles and cutting the cake, Miss Kau thanked everyone for attending and for the many useful gifts. She was the recipient of numerous congratulatory telegrams from friends who were holidaying in Perth and unable to attend.
