Wedding - Bride Chooses Tudor Headdress
"St. Mary’s Church, Colin Street, was the scene of the wedding yesterday of Miss Thelma Bothe, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs C.C. Bothe, of Coorow, to Mr John Bingham, elder son of Mr and Mrs H. Bingham, of Manjimup. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Curtis, an old friend of the bride’s family.
The bride, given away by her father, chose a picture frock of white chiffon over taffeta with a corselet embroidered in silver to match the silver embroidery on the sleeves and short train. A tudor bonnet of hair-braid and bridal lace with a small spray of orange blossom, held the short cut tulle veil in place, and she carried a trailing sheaf of water lilies.
Her bridesmaids were Misses Dorothy Jacks and Dorothy Rumsey, with Messrs. Eric Bradley and Albert Bothe attending the groom. The maids were frocked alike in deep salmon marquisette over taffeta, in picture style, finished with buttons at the front. The tiger lilies with tulle bows falling in ends at the back formed their headdress, and they carried shallow gold baskets of tiger lilies. Mrs C. Mallett did the floral work.
Among those present were Mr and Mrs B.D. Bothe, Mr H.W. Bothe, Mr and Mrs R.B. McGill, Mr and Mrs J. McGill, Mr and Mrs T.S. McGill, Mr and Mrs J. Thomson, Mrs J. McGill sen., Mr and Mrs J.
