Country Wedding
"A gown of lace and tulle, with a billowing skirt inset with panels of Vandyke lace, was worn by Miss Hazel Chappel yesterday when she was married at Wesley Church, Perth, to Mr Ronald Bothe. The tulle bodice had a sweetheart neckline edged with rosettes, and puffed sleeves of lace. Her long, tiered veil was appliquéd with lace. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs H. H. Chappel, of Winchester. Her bridesmaids, Misses Judith and Margaret Valentine, wore gowns composed of layers of blue tulle over mauve with little matching capes, and very short tulle veils held by a spray of flowers. The bridegroom, who is the son of Mr and Mrs C. Bothe, of Coorow, was attended by Mr A. C. Bothe and Mr Laurence Chappel. After the ceremony Mrs Chappel, who wore a gown of powder blue with a beaded bodice and accordion pleats in the skirt, received about 130 guests at the Marelle. Most were country friends who had come to town for the occasion. Mrs Chappel was assisted by Mrs Bothe, who wore a slender gown of French blue."
