Mr "Barney" Barnhart - Death in Metropolis
"The death occurred in Perth on Saturday last of a former well known resident of Three Springs in the person of Mr Randolph "Barney" Barnhart who was for many years the owner-licensee of the Commercial Hotel. After leaving the North Midlands the late Mr Barnhart conducted the Imperial Hotel in Perth, but latterly he had resided at Safety Bay and for some time had not enjoyed normal health conditions. The deceased gentleman was a veteran of World War I, and whilst at Three Springs he was a keen supporter of the R.S.L. He was an ardent lover of animals and more particularly dogs, being the owner whilst living at Three Springs of one outstanding canine pet of which he was very proud, and he was also very fond of game shooting. The funeral took place in the Catholic Cemetery at Karrakatta on Tuesday morning last."
