Wedding
"Married at St. Peter's Church of England, Victoria Park, yesterday, were Irene Lola, daughter of Mr B.J. Ackley of Arrino and Brian Hugh Newbold, son of Mr and Mrs Fred R.H. Lavery, 44 Wood Street, Beaconsfield. Bride who was given away by her father wore magnolia moss crepe tunic frock with flared basque, and magnolia hat with matching feathers. Her bouquet was of red roses. Bridesmaid Myrna White, her cousin, wore blue moss crepe featuring sun-ray flared skirt with bodice appliquéd in silver lame, with navy accessories, Her bouquet was of lemon roses. Best man was Franklyn Lavery and groomsman Bill Flood. Reception was at the home of the bride's grandparents, Mr and Mrs M. Maher of Victoria Park."
