The 836 acres was Lot M1084 of Victoria Location 1938 and cost a total of £794/19/6, payable by instalments over 15 years [27]
During the same month his cousin Basil Vernon CHAPMAN purchased the adjacent Lot M1085 [27]

Sold his partially paid off farm in Carnamah to his cousin Joseph CHAPMAN on 13 March 1924 [27]
Married Catherine Haley MELL in Perth in 1927 [66]
In 1942, when he enlisted in the Australian Army's Volunteer Defence Corps, he was living in Kentdale [16]
Later resided in the Perth suburb of Calista [2]
Died 20 July 1977; ashes scattered to the wind at the Fremantle Cemetery in the Perth suburb of Palmyra [2]
