He and his brother Alfred took out a contract to purchase 2,296 acres of virgin land in Carnamah on 15 June 1925 [27]
The land was purchased from the Midland Railway Company and cost £1339/5/-, payable by instalments over up to 15 years [27]
The acreage consisted of Lots M1024, M1025 and M1026 of Victoria Location 1935 - respectively 10/6, 14/6 and 10/- per acre [27]

The farm was purchased with financial assistance from his brother Charles, who had been farming in Carnamah since 1916 [P96]
His brother Charles also helped by getting him a tractor and other equipment and helped him clear the farm [P96]
The contract to purchase the farm was transferred into just his name on 4 February 1928 [27]
He completed paying the farm's instalments and became its freehold owner [27] [61]
His farm was situated in-between and bounded onto the Caron and Back Inering roads in Carnamah [62]
In 1927-28 he owned a Ford truck, which was registered with the Carnamah District Road Board with license plate CA-183 [325]
He purchased a new Chrevrolet car during February 1928 [81: 12-Feb-1928]
Had an account with Carnamah blacksmith, wheelwright and general repairers Henry Parkin & Son in 1928 [53]
Attended the Plain and Fancy Dress Ball held at the Carnamah Town Hall on Thursday 8 August 1929 [4: 17-Aug-1929]
Attended the Grand Ball following the Carnamah Show and opening of Centenary Park on 19 September 1929 [4: 28-Sep-1929]

During the 1933-34 financial year he sold his 2,296 acre farm in Carnamah to William A. T. SARGENT of Carnamah [3]
