Initially worked in Carnamah on Jasper W. GREEN's Bushy Park Farm, which at that time was managed by Ned WELLS [P53]
At harvest on Bushy Park he did the bag sewing with only one out of 8,000 bags ending up being overweight [P53]
Later worked for Clarence O. BAKER in Carnamah who he said "was a heck of a nice guy" [P53]
Worked on BAKER's leased farm in Carnamah, and on his farm in Winchester and on a leased portion of Gregorfields Farm [P53]
Member of Carnamah's Parkinson Tennis Club in 1933-34 [5: 22-Dec-1933, 23-Feb-1934]
The local newspaper reported on the 17 November 1933 that there was a parcel for him at the Carnamah railway station [5: 17-Nov-1933]
Travelled from Carnamah down to Perth for Christmas in December 1933 [5: 18-Aug-1933]
Often he would get a lift into Carnamah town with Lloyd FOSTER, who worked north of Bushy Park on Harold NAIRN's farm [P53]
Sometimes himself, Lloyd and another man would belt down Macpherson Street in Carnamah on horseback at midnight [P53]
One night "Pop" KROSCHEL told him Const. STREET was in town and indirectly warned them not to belt down the main street [P53]
Attended the Dance conducted by the Carnamah Toc H at the Carnamah Hall on Saturday 24 February 1934 [5: 2-Mar-1934]

A week after learning how to ride a horse he was riding without a saddle and another week on could ride without a bridle [P53]
In addition to planting crop he also ripped and ploughed up another 1,000 acres on THREADGOLD's farm [P53]
Member of the Five Gums Tennis Club in 1934-35 and 1935-36 [5: 5-Apr-1935, 3-May-1935, 13-Dec-1935]
Also played tennis against his employer at courts on the farm, and against the PERRY and AUNGER families who visited [P53]
He was a very good tennis player but let Glen win sometimes as he felt he couldn't always beat his boss [P53]
Mrs THREADGOLD tried unsuccessfully to get him a girlfriend - the nearest was too young and the next was 20 miles away [P53]
When he was there four of the "Five Gums" were still standing, the fifth said to have been felled to burn a deceased native [P53]
After leaving Carnamah he got a job with General Motors in Perth [P53]
One day when in the Perth suburb of Cottesloe he saw from a distance some horses penned up and instantly recognised one [P53]
He called out and then walked over and it was Lofty, a horse he'd worked with on Glen THREADGOLD's farm at Five Gums [P53]
Member of the Cottesloe Tennis Club and the Cottesloe Athletic Club [P53]
Through his sister, who was a member of the Athletic Club at Cottesloe, he met his wife-to-be Allwyn [P53]
Resided in the Perth suburb of Mosman Park prior to enlisting in the Royal Australian Air Force on 24 September 1940 [16]
Prior to leaving for active service he proposed to Allwyn and then returned on leave during the war and they got married [P53]
Married Allwyn Isobel THOMAS in Perth in 1941 [66]
Corporal 17746 in the 7 Royal Australian Air Force Hospital during the Second World War [16]
Discharged from the Royal Australian Air Force on 11 March 1946 [16]
His wife Allwyn, late of the Perth suburb of Bullcreek, died at the age of 75 years on 29 October 1996 [2]
In 2005 he was living at 12 Dartford Street in the Perth suburb of Bullcreek[P53]
Resided in the Perth suburb of Bullcreek until his death at the age of 93 years in 2009 [2]
Died 7 January 2009; ashes interred Karrakatta Cemetery, Perth WA (Lance Howard Memorial Gardens, Family Shrub, 83) [2]
