Notes in Passing
"Apart from the fact that it meant saying farewell to an honoured and respected resident in the person of Mrs P.W. Hunt, the function held at the Coorow hall on Wednesday, March 26 was a very happy and informal occasion. The afternoon was arranged by the ladies of the Coorow and Waddy Forest districts, and hosted by Mrs K.E. Jones. Mrs B. Bothe, Mrs A. McGilp and Mrs V. Broun spoke in eulogistic terms of Mrs Hunt's willingness at all times to assist in any good cause. To Mrs N. Hyde fell the pleasant duty of presenting a handsome coffee table, as a farewell gift. Items were rendered during the afternoon by Miss E. Melvin, Mrs R. Bothe, Miss Millard and Mrs N. Hyde. After a very sumptuous afternoon tea interspersed with plenty of chatter, the gathering concluded with all wishing Mrs Hunt and family every happiness in their new home and the singing of Auld Lang Syne."
