Travelled from Three Springs to Perth during April 1915 for treatment to what turned out to be a serious eye condition [10: 15-Apr-1915]
Returned to Three Springs in early May 1915 with improved eyesight, glasses and perfect vision expected over time [10: 11-May-1915]
In November 1915, while recovering from a bad attack of influenza, she suffered a dizzy spell and dropped a pot of boiling tea [10]
The contents of the pot went over her and scalded her so badly she was confined to her bed for at least three weeks [10: 19-Nov-1915]
Attended as "Harvest" the Plain & Fancy Dress Ball in Three Springs on 19 July 1916 in aid of the Red Cross Society [10: 28-Jul-1916]

Her "Coming of Age" / 21st Birthday was celebrated at the Agricultural Hall in Three Springs on Friday 12 September 1919 [10]
The celebration was hosted by her parents and up until that date was one of the brightest and biggest socials ever held in TS [10]
The evening consisted of dancing, songs and speeches and the Hall was taxed to accommodate the large number of people [10]

"The engagement is announced between Miss May Berrigan, eldest daughter of Mr Tom Berrigan, Three Springs to Mr Frank Byrne, second son of Mr E. K. Byrne, J.P., of Three Springs."
