His first wife died at the age of 21 on 5 August 1929 and was buried at Saint Mary's churchyard in Middle Swan [39: 7-Aug-1929] [246]
Like his father, he worked for the Midland Railway Company [19]

On leaving Watheroo shifted to Second Avenue in the Perth suburb of Mount Lawley and later to the Perth suburb of Scarborough [119]
In 1954 he was working as a Tram Conductor and living at 54 Second Avenue in the Perth suburb of Mount Lawley [50]

Died 5 November 1971; ashes scattered over the rose garden at Karrakatta Cemetery in Perth, Western Australia [2]
Following the completion of works his son Ian officially opened the restored Macpherson Homestead in Carnamah in 2004 [P1]
His son Ian and Ian's wife Elsie were in attendance at the Carnamah townsite's centenary celebrations in 2013 [P1]
