By 1900 he had shifted to Western Australia and was working as a School Teacher[6]
School Teacher in Albany 1900-1902, Mogumber in 1904, Darradup 1905-1906, Cunderdin 1907-1908 and Bindoon 1909-1934 [6]
He is said to have also taught at State Schools in Bakers Hill and Whittakers Mill [P95]
Married Maud Rosamond COPE on 10 January 1906 at the Mogumber State School in Mogumber [P95]
At the time Maud was Postmistress at Mogumber and her father Charles C. COPE was the Railway Stationmaster at Mogumber [6]
He was appointed the Postal Vote Officer for Bindoon North by the Chief Electoral Officer in 1908 [86: 5-Sep-1908]
Postal Vote Officer for Bindoon for the Legislative Council elections held on 13 May 1910 [9: 22-Apr-1910]
In July 1914 he was transferred from the Bindoon State School to the State School at Marbro [10: 28-Jul-1914]
Presumably later transferred back to Bindoon, as he was listed under Bindoon in Wise's Postal Directory from 1909 to 1934 [6]
Purchased in partnership with his brother-in-law Harold J. COPE 865 acres of virgin land in Carnamah on 10 September 1921 [27]
The 865 acres was Lot M1078 of Victoria Location 1937, situated on the north side of the Carnamah-Bunjil Road [27] [62]
They purchased the 865 acres from the Midland Railway Company for £753, payable by instalments over 15 years [27]
Absentee Farmer and Grazier in Carnamah in partnership with Harold J. COPE as "Cope & Wood" 1921-1923 [44] [27]
He continued teaching while his brother-in-law Harold J. COPE resided on and farmed the property in Carnamah [P95]
On 5 October 1923 they sold their partly paid off 865 acre farm in Carnamah to Mrs Sophia ROWLAND of Dongara [27]
Included in the sale were all improvements to the property, a 1,000 gallon tank and a new spring cart [P140]
Died 20 May 1934; buried Karrakatta Cemetery, Perth WA (Wesleyan, FC, 230) [2]
His wife Maud, late of the Perth suburb of Bayswater, died on 20 August 1971, aged 87 years and was also buried at Karrakatta [2]
