From The Western Mail newspaper, Thursday 26 December 1929:
Country Towns and Districts - Three Springs and Mingenew - Cereal and Pastoral Wealth - People and Properties
"In the heart of the widely-known Mingenew fattening country, 12 miles from the township, Mr J. S. O'Halloran has 7,000 acres of flat, rich chocolate land. Corabella, as the property is named, was previously owned by the late Mr C. W. O'Halloran, an uncle of Mr O'Halloran, in whose hands Corabella has been since 1919. It is a well-improved property, capable of carrying a sheep to the acre, or the equivalent, and its paddocks are thickly dotted with the invaluable sago bush a species of salt bush. In the past Mr O'Halloran has concentrated on sheep, but, like many others, the decline in wool prices has caused him to turn towards cattle, although he will continue to fatten sheep. He has a Koonoona stud of 100 ewes, now in its third year. The ram was imported from South Australia and also some of the ewes. Last season 110 bales of wool were obtained from 5,000 sheep. Mr O'Halloran is an active member of the road board, and is also an enthusiastic polo player."
