Resided with his mother, stepfather and sisters Karolyn and Barbara on Karragee Farm in Carnamah ^[P96]

Later resided at the Separation Point Caravan Park in Geraldton ^[1]
Tragically killed in a mining accident at Lawlers Gold Mine in Leinster ^{[1] [14]}
Died 13 September 1997 in Leinster, and was cremated in Geraldton on 22 September 1997 ^{[1] [90]}
His ashes were interred in the Niche Wall at the Winchester Cemetery, Carnamah at 11:00 a.m. on 8 January 1998 ^{[1] [90]}


From the Fatal Accident Report of Lawlers Gold Mine:
"Mr Graeme James Turner, the driver of a water truck, employed by Leighton Contractors at the Plutonic Resources Ltd Lawlers Gold Mine, suffered fatal injuries in an accident at the mine at about 10.00 hours on Saturday, 13 September 1997. Mr Turner was driving a water truck (Ford Louisville on-road type) taking a quantity of water down the access ramp at the New Holland Pit to water a shot when he made a "Mayday" call on the radio. The vehicle went out of control and gained speed. After travelling approximately 600 metres along the straight section of ramp at high speed the watercart failed to negotiate a bend on the ramp. The watercart went over onto its left hand side, hit the pit wall, slid along the wall and was slowed in its forward direction by a large protruding area in the pit wall. This collision caused the back end of the watercart to come around in an anticlockwise direction away from the pit wall. The vehicle came to rest at a right angle across the pit ramp still on its left hand side. The engine and cabin of the watercart sustained the full force of the impact. The accident was observed by a truck driver and the Leighton's pit foreman who raised the alarm immediately. Despite the efforts of rescuers and paramedics the casualty was not able to be freed from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at 11:38 hours. The deceased was released from the watercart by the Leinster fire brigade at 13:40 hours and taken to the Leinster Mortuary by the Plutonic ambulance."
