From The York Peninsular Country Times newspaper:
Vale Con Bussenschutt
"Many residents of North Yorke Peninsula, and readers of the Y. P. Country Times, will be saddened to learn of the passing of Con Bussenschutt of Three Springs, W.A., on Wednesday, 9th June. He was almost 81 years of age. Con moved to Carnamah, W.A., from Paskeville in April, 1928. He was then 27, but in years since he kept in contact with his many friends on the Yorke Peninsula. He often wrote bright newsy letters for publication in the Y. P. Country Times, and these will be missed. When he commenced farming at Carnamah he cropped up to 1,400 acres per year, using two small Fordson Tractors as his power units. He was well known for his bright and enthusiastic manner and friendliness to all, both young and old. Over the years he acquired a wealth of knowledge which was always ready to pass on. He often had visitors to both his home on he farmer at Carnamah, and later when he retired to Three Springs. Many of these visitors were people from South Australia. Reporting his death, the Carnamah paper said that Con was a foundation member of both Carnamah and Three Springs bowling clubs, a strong advocate for the combined North Midlands show, a member of the North Midlands District Hospital Board for 25 years, and a life member of the Royal Agricultural Society. He never missed a Royal Show in Perth. He was also a strong supporter of the Returned Services League, and never missed an Anzac Day Service until this year. Con was also on the Anglican vestry for many years, and supported all the local farming organisations. He is mourned by his wife, Beat, and family."
