     His farm was 2,125 acres in size and consisted of Victoria Locations 2471, 2759, 2760, 2782, 2783, 2894, 2899 and 3433 [44]
He appears to have supplemented his income by doing local contract work for the Upper Irwin Road Board [9: 5-Aug-1910]
     In 1910 formed and gravelled Railway and Slaughter streets in the Three Springs townsite, for £2/10/6 and £2/20/- per chain [9]
     During October 1910 formed and gravelled part of the Midlands Road for the Road Board for £3 per chain [9: 30-Sep-1910]
     Did gravelling on Dudawa Road for £3 per chain in 1911, and also made four water breaks for £7/10/- [9: 2-Jun-1911]
Played for Arrino in one of their first cricket matches against a team from Three Springs on 5 January 1907 [31: 9-Jan-1907]
He was said to have been a very good farmer and once well established at Arrino he purchased a second farm in Winchester [P2]
     At auction on 25 March 1929 he purchased Arthur WHITE's 800 acre Sun Holme Farm in Winchester [81: 17-Mar-1929] [225: 16-Jan-1930]
     The farm's 800 acres comprised Victoria Locations 2926 and 2927 half a mile from the Winchester Railway Siding [3] [81: 17-Mar-1929]
     All of the farm was cleared, divided and fenced into seven paddocks with water from a 6,000 yard dam and soak [81: 17-Mar-1929]
     Upon purchase the farm contained a seven-roomed bungalow house, with motor garage, both constructed of cement blocks [81]
     From 1929 to 1931 had the telephone connected at his Winchester property, which was telephone number Winchester-3 [60]
     His brother Percy resided on and ran the farm in Winchester while his sons went there to help during seeding and harvest [P2]
     Following the death of his wife he lost interest and sold his Winchester farm [P2] to Howard H. CHAPPEL on 24 March 1934 [3]
His wife Elizabeth passed away at the age of 41 years on 4 February 1931 and was buried at the Karrakatta Cemetery in Perth [2]
