His father's farm was the 851 acre Lot 3 of the Inering Estate on the north and south sides of the Carnamah-Perenjori Road ^{[3] [62]}

     He sent a picture with his letter but commented "I haven't enough nice colours, but I've done the best I could" ^[81]
