From The North Midland Times newspaper, Friday 22 June 1934:
"The death of Mr. G. Fathers, of Geraldton, father of Mrs. M. P. Baker, of Carnamah, occurred at Geraldton on Friday of last week, at the age of 72. He had been an old resident of Geraldton. Mr. and Mrs. Baker attended the funeral at Geraldton on Sunday afternoon."
