From The Moora Herald and Midland Districts Advocate newspaper, Tuesday 14 July 1914:
Death at the Hospital
"Mr. W. J. Turner, of Arrino, who was an inmate of the Moora Hospital, died in that institution at midnight on Thursday last. He had been ailing for some six months past and finally succumbed to a malignant bowel trouble. Mrs. Turner came to Moora, and had the body conveyed to Dongara, where interment took place. Mr. Turner was well known in the Midlands, where he had for years been connected with the Midland Railway as a district inspector, and subsequently as a farmer at Arrino. Much regret is felt by a large number of friends at his untimely demise, and the sincerest sympathy expressed for Mrs. Turner in her sad bereavement."
