Marriages
"HYDE – GRAHAM. – On May 19, at West Perth, Norman Francis Hyde to Ruby Elaine Graham."
From The Western Mail newspaper, Thursday 17 June 1926:
Weddings
"In St. Mary's Church, Colin Street, on May 19, Miss Ruby Elaine Graham, only daughter of Mr and Mrs E. J. Graham, of North Perth, was married to Mr Norman Francis Hyde, son of Mr and Mrs C. H. Hyde, of Hyde Park, Dalwallinu, the Rev. H. Hyde, brother of the bridegroom, officiated. The church was tastefully decorated for the occasion by the girl friends of the bride, who also provided a white satin cushion for her to kneel upon.
The bride wore a gown of French crepe de chine heavily beaded in crystal and silver, caught at the side with a silver rose and a spray of orange blossom, the ensemble being completed with a quaint bonnet effect in tulle and orange blossom, which held a long silk tulle veil. She carried a bouquet of white azaleas, tuber roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Margery Sutton, cousin of the bride, was attired in mauve floral georgette trimmed with white fur, and a mauve tulle hat. Her posy was of pink rosebuds and mauve streamers. Mr Jack Locke, of Dalwallinu was best man.
After the ceremony guests, numbering nearly one hundred, were received by the parents of the bride and bridegroom in the Karrakatta Club, where a reception was held. The bride's mother wore a russet brown gown of chenille georgette with a black hat and she carried a bouquet of yellow gladioli, roses and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a black georgette gown with hat to match, and her bouquet was of red roses. Later the happy couple left on a honeymoon to the Eastern States. The bride travelled in an electric blue marocain dress and a hat of old rose velvet."
