Purchased another 451 acres of land in Three Springs from the Midland Railway Company on 10 December 1909 ^[27]
The 451 acres was Lot M815 of Victoria Location 2020 and cost 23/- per acre or a total of £518/13/-, payable by instalments ^[27]
Lot M815 was timbered in Salmon and York Gum country, described as "a magnificent piece of forest country" ^{[31: 16-Apr-1913]}
Within two years he had ringbarked the trees over 260 acres of his Lot M815 ^{[31: 16-Apr-1913]}
He appears to have worked as a Miner in Meekatharra while also developing his farm in Three Springs 1909-1911 ^{[9: 3-Nov-1911] [44]}
Died 1911 in Nannine, Western Australia ^{[9: 3-Nov-1911]}
His land in Three Springs was offered for sale by auction at Harper's Buildings in Perth at 3pm on Friday 25 April 1913 ^{[31: 16-Apr-1913]}
Nothing sold but after the auction his initial 894 acres was sold to Maley Bros "for a very satisfactory figure" ^{[9: 16-May-1913] [31: 16-Apr-1913]}
Lot M815 remained unsold and on 18 September 1913 the Midland Railway Company rescinded the sale and reclaimed the block ^[27]


From The Midlands Advertiser newspaper, Friday 3 November 1911:
Three Springs
"Quite a gloom was cast over the town on Monday last when the news of the death of Mr Robert Mitchell was received here from Nannine, at which place he succumbed to typhoid fever. Mr Mitchell came here from Lawlers about three years ago, and acquired large farming interests in this district where he was greatly respected."

People We Know
"Mr Robert Mitchell, well-known at Lawlers and on the East Murchison generally, succumbed to typhoid at Nannine the other day. Mr Mitchell had been doing well of late, and was making a success of a farm he was running near Senator Lynch's place [in Three Springs]."
