From The North Midland Times newspaper, Friday 19 June 1936:
Obituary - The late Mr. R. J. Blakiston
"The death occurred at the Three Springs hospital at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 15 when Mr R. J. Blakiston, of Yandanooka, passed away. Deceased had suffered indifferent health for the past 18 months and had been an inmate of the hospital for about four weeks before his demise. The late Mr Blakiston was about 45 years of age, and had lived a number of years at Yandanooka where he managed the property of Mr Grant of Geraldton. The deceased leaves a wife and four children to mourn their sad loss. The remains were interred in the Three Springs cemetery on Tuesday, the cortege moving from the hospital. The Rev. A. J. Toomey officiated at the grave-side."
