On 14 July 1926 purchased 1,241 acres of virgin land in Coorow for 8/- per acre from the Midland Railway Company [27]
The 1,241 acres was Lot M1651 of Victoria Location 2023 and cost £496/8/6, which he paid for by instalments over 16 years [27]
