     Resided in a house near his general store in Carnamah until selling the store to Eva COWDEROY [P6]
In May 1927 sold the general store and its premises at 2 Macpherson Street, Carnamah to Mrs Eva COWDEROY [4: 21-May-1927]
     Following the sale of the general store he remained in Carnamah as a Commission Agent [6] [P9]
     In May 1927 employed the services of Eric J. CLARKE of Guildford to build a showroom and garage in Carnamah [4: 28-May-1927]

     He initially had the G.M.C. Service Station run by its previous proprietor Charles E. I. THOMPSON [4: 1-Jun-1929]
     In 1929 his service station was known as "Scott Wylie's Garage and Authorised General Motors Service Station" [4: 28-Sep-1929]
     Employed a mechanic to run his garage which did repairs to all makes of cars [4: 28-Sep-1929]

     In 1929 also sold used cars, his advertisements using the phrase "many models, many makes, many prices" [4: 23-Nov-1929]
     As the local dealer for General Motors sold various models of Chevrolet cars for between £205 and £315 each in 1929 [4: 16-Feb-1929]
As a part of his business he established one of the two first oil depots in Carnamah in 1928 [4: 22-Sep-1928]
    In 1928 became a small and large quantity supplier of Black Cross and Pennant kerosene, RCD oil and Shell petrol and oil [4]
Conducted a trade exhibit of his business at the Carnamah Show in Centenary Park on 19 September 1929 [4: 28-Sep-1929]
     Among the items on display in his trade exhibit were a new sports model Master Buick car and a 30 cwt Chevrolet truck [4]
     Also conducted a trade exhibit of his business at the Three Springs Agricultural Society's Show on 30 September 1929 [4: 5-Oct-1929]
Through his business he sold Irwin R. COUSINS' farm in Winchester to Howard H. CHAPPEL in October 1929 [4: 19-Oct-1929]

In March 1928 was a passenger in his Chev car driving back to Carnamah from Three Springs when the car struck a small tree [4]
     The car swerved off the road and into a clump of York Gums and he was thrown into the windscreen [4: 17-Mar-1928]
     He received a bad cut to the lip which necessitated seven stitches from Dr M. A. MAYRHOFER of Three Springs [4: 17-Mar-1928]
     The driver of the car, insurance agent Mr MCKENZIE, was severely bruised but also escaped serious injury [4: 17-Mar-1928]
     The car was towed to Carnamah by Thomas H. PARKIN who expressed the opinion it was damaged beyond repair [4: 17-Mar-1928]
Made a donation to the Carnamah Football Club to aid them in raising funds to send a team to Geraldton in 1928 [4: 22-Sep-1928]
In 1929 he purchased through his own agency a new Chevrolet four door sedan car for his own use [4: 9-Nov-1929]
Following the death from leukaemia of their son Normie in August 1929 his wife no longer wanted to live in Carnamah [P211]
By mid 1932 they had left Carnamah and were living in Donnybrook [3]
