Resided with his parents on farmland in Three Springs, Western Australia 1907-1912 ^{[9: 1-Nov-1907] [19]}
Following the first edition of The Midlands Advertiser newspaper in 1907 he wrote to the "Uncle Bob" children's section ^{[9: 11-Oct-1907]}
     He wrote pleased that after six months of trying, that Three Springs was at last going to get a school with 20 children of school age ^[9]
     Mentioned that the government had sent men to bore for water as no fresh water had been found in the southern part of the district ^[9]
     Also wrote that they'd soon be boring for water on their farm and that there were some very fine crops in Three Springs ^[9]
A week later wrote to Uncle Bob again, mentioning Reuben CARTER had the best crop locally - at 5 feet 8 inches tall ^{[9: 18-Oct-1907]}
     The borers hadn't struck any water but an accident had occurred where the tender (coal cart) of a steam engine ran off the railway ^[9]
     The tender broke bolts on the railway line when it ran off, which resulted in the mixed train to Geraldton being delayed by 2½ hours ^[9]
For the third week running, he again wrote to Uncle Bob with his letter being published on 1 November 1907 ^{[9: 1-Nov-1907]}
     In his third letter he mentioned that the grass in Three Springs was drying off and the farmers were getting ready for harvest ^[9]
     Also enthusiastically wrote of a visit to a property of Michael BROWN located 40 miles east of Three Springs ^[9]
     He described it as having "splendid scenery and a beautiful soak of water... surrounded by caves and cliffs" ^[9]
     "The grass is up to your knees and the cattle are rolling fat" and were far better than any cattle he saw at a sale in Mingenew ^[9]
He won the Boys Race at the Children's School Picnic held in Three Springs on Easter Monday in 1909 ^{[9: 30-Apr-1909]}
