From The Midlands Advertiser newspaper, Friday 24 March 1922:
A Sudden Death
"A man by the name of Scoberg, aged about 70, who had been engaged in a clearing contract at Carnamah, paid a visit to Three Springs on the 15th. inst for the purpose of visiting the doctor as he had not been feeling too well. After examination by Dr. McAleer, he was prescribed for and advised to stay in Three Springs for a few days so that he could avail himself of medical attention. The following morning, at 7 30, he was discovered by Mrs Cook, in an apparently unconscious condition leaning against and clutching a wire fence. The police and Doctor were quickly summoned but on their arrival life was pronounced to be extinct. After further examination by the Doctor a burial certificate was given it being considered that the man had died from natural causes brought about by heart failure and a violet fit of coughing. Deceased whose relatives were at this time unknown was buried in the local cemetery."
