It appeared that the deceased had been found that morning be Mr C. Lees lying on the ground in Hesford-street, apparently in a serious condition. He was removed to Mrs Griffiths' boarding house, and Dr Hough, of Morawa, was summoned. Breen was in a semi-conscious state and Dr Hough ordered his removed to Three Springs Hospital. When they returned to the house, however, the man was dead. A post-mortem examination was held the same night, and the doctor found that death was due to exposure, heart failure and congestion of the lungs. Deceased was a returned soldier."
