Farmed with his brothers on Oakabella Farm in Howatharra before shifting to Winchester [P55]
On 26 July 1926 his brother "Jack" John ATKINSON purchased Cecil B. O'NEILL's 1,300 acre farm in Winchester [27]
     The 1,300 acres was Lot M1601 of Victoria Location 2023 situated on the south side of the Winchester East Road [27]
     By 1929 he and his brother "Gus" Augustus ATKINSON had shifted to their brother Jack's farm in Winchester [4: 17-Aug-1929]
Farmer in Winchester in partnership with his two brothers as "Atkinson Bros" [19] [P55]
     He and Gus resided on and ran the farm in Winchester while Jack resided on and farmed Oakabella Farm in Howatharra [P55]
     In the 1938-39 financial year he and Jim began leasing an adjoining 3,362 acres in Winchester [3] [34]
     The 3,362 acres was Lot M1792 of Victoria Location 2023 and was leased from the Midland Railway Company [3] [34]
     On 8 August 1945 he and his brothers Jack and Gus purchased the 3,362 acres that they had been leasing for about six years [27]
They purchased the 3,363 acres from the Midland Railway Company for £1176/14/- (7/- an acre), payable by instalments [27]
Annually they dipped their sheep on Charles CHAPMAN's Elouera Farm in Winchester [P55]
