Prior to leaving Three Springs he was tendered a Valedictory Smoke Social in the Lesser Hall at Three Springs in November 1949 [4]
18 men spoke of his ability as a railway officer, his popularity, their regret at him leaving and to wish him the best for his future[4]
He responded in thanks and said although he regretted leaving Three Springs he was also pleased as his transfer was a promotion [4]
Left Three Springs in mid November 1949 after being transferred to Watheroo [4: 19-Nov-1949]
Died 20 May 1988; buried Midland Cemetery, Perth suburb of Midland (Anglican, I, 67) [2]
