Over the years his first name changed from Richard to Henry and his surname evolved from WALLOWALLO to WALYA [15]
He was baptised at the Benedictine Mission in New Norcia on 27 May 1888 [519: page 146]
Married (1) "Carmen" Mary Carmen YAPPO on 12 February 1893 in New Norcia [15] [519]
He and his wife were among the Aboriginal people living at the Benedictine Mission in New Norcia in 1894, 1898 and 1899 [519: page 149]
     Their daughter Theodosia, later known as Dorcia, was baptised in New Norcia on 30 May 1894 and died in Moora in 1925 [519]
Their son Placidio was born in Victoria Plains in 1900 and died in Victoria Plains at the age of eight months in 1901 [15]
They appear to have resided in New Norcia from 1907 to 1909 with their children Sarah, Richard and Henry being born there [15]
He was a member of the New Norcia Cricket Club in 1909 [9: 5-Nov-1909]
Their daughter Mary Carmen was born in Victoria Plains in 1910 [15]
His wife gave birth to four children in four years with Sarah, Richard, Henry and Mary Carmen being born between 1907 and 1910 [15]
     In New Norcia, Sarah died aged six days in 1907, Richard aged two weeks in 1908, and Henry aged three days in 1909 [15]
He later who worked as a farmhand in Carnamah [100: Doc D115]
     By 1911 they had shifted to Carnamah, it being where their daughter Mary Carmen passed away at the age of one year [15]
     For a period of time in Carnamah he was employed doing odd jobs for Donald MACPHERSON [P93]

His wife gave birth to an unnamed son, who didn't survive, in Carnamah during 1913 [15]

On 20 October 1923 he purchased from the Midland Railway Company a vacant quarter-acre block in the Carnamah townsite [27]
     The block cost £10, payable over two years, and was 28 Boojerabba Street, Carnamah (Lot 61 of Victoria Location 1936) [27]
     He appears to have sold 28 Boojerabba Street to the Carnamah District Road Board, who later had a windmill on the block [3] [P4]
     The Carnamah District Road Board later changed the name of Boojerabba Street to Robertson Street [39: 26-Mar-1932]
He owned another quarter-acre block, Gov Lot 1 on Railway Avenue, in the Carnamah townsite [3]
Father by his first wife of "Dorcia" Theodosia, Placido, Sarah, Richard, Mary Carmen, and Henry [15]
Died 9 December 1929 in Carnamah; buried at Winchester Cemetery in Carnamah, Western Australia (Row J, Plot 1) [1]
     Undertaker of his funeral was Henry Parkin & Son of Carnamah and the officiating minister Father Michael LYNCH of Three Springs [1]
In 1932 the Carnamah District Road Board wanted to purchase his Lot 1 to extend local recreation ground Centenary Park [4: 15-Oct-1932]
     Rates for his Gov Lot 1 on Railway Avenue in Carnamah were sent to his wife in Carnamah until 1934 [3]
     By 1935 the Road Board had commenced using his land but had been unable to secure the title [4: 31-Aug-1935]
     As he died without a will, the Curator of Intestate Estates took over his affairs from 1936 [100: Doc D115]
     The Curator of Intestate Estates contacted the Road Board for information on behalf of his wife in March 1936 [5: 20-Mar-1936]
     His quarter acre Gov Lot 1 in Carnamah remained in the name of his estate until 1939 and then disappeared from rate books [3]
     Correspondence of the Carnamah District Road Board is suggestive that they may have resumed the block [5: 21-Jun-1935]
His surname was recorded as Wallo-Wallo, Wallo, Wallyou, Walyou, Wyalha, Wally, Wallia, Walls, Woolyar, Wolya, and Walya [9] [15]

Obituary
"The friends of the late H. Walya, of Carnamah, will regret to learn of his death at Carnamah on Monday 9th instant. The late Mr. Walya was 65 years of age at his death and was a well-known identity in the Midlands districts, especially in and around Carnamah, where he had been domiciled for a considerable number of years. The funeral took place in the Roman Catholic portion of the Winchester Cemetery, on Tuesday. Funeral arrangements being carried out by Hy. Parkin & Son of Carnamah."
