Five months before he was born in 1908 his father passed away at the age of 44 from appendicitis [28]
He was the youngest of three sons with elder brothers John Gordon and William Hardie [28]
Following his father's death his mother and brothers moved to Dunfermline to live with his mother's brother William HARDIE [20] [28]
He was born and spent his the first few years of his life on his uncle William HARDIE's Glowridge Hill Farm in Dunfermline [20] [28]
When the 1922 census was taken he was living with his mother and brothers at 68 Marchmont Crescent in Edinburgh [20]
Five days before his 18th birthday in 1926 his mother passed away from breast cancer at the age of 55 years [28]
He departed London, England on the steamship Esperance Bay and arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 29 March 1928 [63]

     After a number of years in Arrino he began suffering from a bad type of arthritis which often crippled him [P2]
     He had to stay in bed a lot and was frequently in and out of hospital, later spending months at a hospital in Perth before his death [P2]

Died 27 July 1950; ashes interred Karrakatta Cemetery in Perth, Western Australia (Crematorium Rose Gardens, Niche Wall, WN, 54) [2]
His brother, Sir William Hardie KININMONTH, was an architect in Scotland and was knighted in 1972
