He and his sister Anna grew up under the care of their parents in Nelena, Prussia ^[P106]
Departed Genoa, Italy on the Friedrich der Grosse and arrived in Adelaide, South Australia in 1909 ^[70]
Shifted to Western Australia, where his sister Anna and brother-in-law Franz L. ARNDT were already living ^[P106]
For a year during the First World War he worked as a farmhand on his brother-in-law's farm in Three Springs ^[P106]
That year was probably 1916, when he was listed on the Commonwealth Electoral Roll with an address of Three Springs ^[50]

His sister nursed him through an illness at her home in Three Springs, at the end of which he died ^[P106]
