They departed Liverpool, England on the steamship Runic on 30 July 1908 [203] bound for Albany, Western Australia [433]
After their arrival they resided on Glenholm Farm in Moora, where his father was working as a farmhand for Joshua A. WALDECK [P487]
By 1910 they were settled at Parkerville in the Perth hills, where his father was initially an orchardist [50]
His father later worked as a draughtsman [50] and architect for the Public Works Department and the Commonwealth Government [P487]
Later resided with his parents in Perth - on 8th Avenue in Maylands and later at 15 Barnfield Road in Claremont [34] [50]
He purchased from the Midland Railway Company 1,240 acres of virgin land in Carnamah on 24 August 1925 [27]
The land is believed to have been purchased or financed by his father [P487]
The 1,240 acres was Lots M983 and M992 of Victoria Location 2022 and cost of £541/2/6, payable by instalments over 15 years [27]
Lot M992 is on the north side of Reading Road with Lot M983 situated behind and bounding the Three Springs-Perenjori Road [62]
Sold his partially paid off 1,240 acres of land in Carnamah to James C. and Patrick I. HOGAN on 25 July 1929 [27]
The new owners leased the property to Maurice B. CLARK and it's possible he'd also leased it to CLARK during his ownership [3] [19]
Farmer of Blantyre Farm in Brookton [80: 5-Dec-1929]
He and his brother Ken, who was then only a teenager, settled on and began developing the land, while living in a shed or tent [P487]
The farm was named Blantyre after the parish their mother had come from in Lanarkshire, Scotland [P487]
"Ross Bros" of Brookton sold eight porkers at the fat stock sale held at Midland Junction on 12 September 1928 [39: 13-Sep-1928]
He held various jobs over the years, including making Metters wood stoves [P487]
His mother passed away while on a holiday in Scotland in 1930 [P487]
Along with his brothers and father built a rammed earth house on Falls Road in Parkerville using clay dug out of Jane Brook [P487]

He and his father established an orchard on their property in Parkerville, where they eventually both lived and made their living [P487]
Resided in Parkerville prior to enlisting to serve in the Australian Army on 21 May 1940 [16]
