The farm was four miles east of Winchester and bounded both Burns Road and the Carnamah-Bunjil Road [10: 17-Apr-1929] [62]
His wife and children left Maitland, South Australia and shifted to the farm in Winchester in 1928 [25]
He had an account with Carnamah blacksmith, wheelwright and general repairers Henry Parkin & Son from 1927 to 1929 [53]
His sons Ralph and John both attended the Winchester State School [25]
After leasing out his farm at Winchester he held a clearing sale on the property at 2 p.m. on Friday 26 April 1929 [10: 17-Apr-1929]
At the sale 570 sheep were offered for sale - 446 pregnant ewes, 90 Merino lambs, 30 crossbred lambs, four Dorset Horn rams [10]
Other livestock that was up for auction were two horses, a cow, 20 fowls and two sheepdogs [10]
His plant and machinery consisted of a 17/28 Twin City tractor with extension steering and lighting outfit, State Imperial grader, [10]
12-disc Clarence Smith plough, 13-disc Clarence Smith cultivator, set of 10 leaf harrows with centre wheel, 10-foot scrub roller, [10]
8-foot McKay header with tractor hitch, spring cart, saddles, collars, hames, winkers, four sets of trace chains, 18-foot of troughing, [10]
ball tap, 650 and 200-gallon tanks, netting, wire, blacksmith's forge, 5-gallon drum of boiled Linseed Oil and a tin of Carbide [10]
Also sold produce consisting of 26 bags of Algerian seed oats, eight bags of feed oats, 20 bags of screenings and 10 tons of hay [10]
Along with his wife and children he returned to South Australia in 1929 [25] and resided in Maitland, South Australia during the 1930s [3]
He was in Carnamah during the fourth week of July 1933, during which time he stayed at the Carnamah Hotel [5: 28-Jul-1933]
At the conclusion of his visit he left Carnamah on Friday 28 July 1933 and the next day caught the train to South Australia [5: 28-Jul-1933]
Later sold his farm in Winchester to his brothers-in-law FRANCIS Bros [3]
