Daughter of sawyer Joseph CRIPPIN and Eliza BRYANT ^{[20] [21]}
     Prior to her parents marrying her father had been sentenced to twelve months imprisonment for bigamy in 1847 ^[174]
     In 1859 her father was convicted under the alias of James OSBORNE for "uttering forged notes" and sentenced to 15 years ^[107]
     Her father departed England on the convict ship Palmerston and arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 11 February 1861^[69]
Following her father's departure she, her siblings and their mother resided in Birmingham where her mother worked as a Boot Binder ^[20]
     Her father received his Ticket of Leave in 1863 and the following year they sailed for Western Australia to join him ^{[69] [107]}
     They had gone under the CRIPPIN surname in England but arrived in and used the name of OSBORNE in Western Australia ^{[15] [20]}
Departed London, England on the ship Hastings with her mother and siblings Robert, Herbert, Lola and Martha in 1864 ^[69]
     They arrived on the Hastings in Fremantle, Western Australia on 17 December 1864 ^[69]
     Resided with her parents around Geraldton and Bootenal, where her youngest siblings Clara and Celia were born ^[15]
     In Western Australia her father continued to go by the name of James OSBORNE ^[15]
     The story of her parents was featured in a "Love in the Age of Convicts" story in Inside History magazine in Sep-Oct 2012 ^[P1]
Married (1) Robert STARLING in Geraldton in 1871 ^[15]
     Resided with her first husband on the Greenough Flats until leaving around April of 1872 ^{[160: 8-May-1872]}
     Her husband advertised that he would not be answerable for any debts contracted by his wife who had left their home ^{[160: 8-May-1872]}
     They presumably reunited as they went on to have five children ^[15]
     Her first husband passed away at the age of 58 years on 28 June 1882 ^[29]
Married (2) "Frank" Francis Henry Reeves THOMAS in Greenough in 1885 ^[15]
     In 1896 her daughter Eliza Elizabeth STARLING married her second husband's brother John Fitzgerald THOMAS ^[15]
     Resided on Coorow Station in Coorow 1903-1910 ^{[19] [31: 14-Oct-1910] [44] [50]}
     Resided on Jun Jun Farm in Coorow 1910-1925 ^{[6] [19] [31: 14-Oct-1910] [44]}
     In the 1920s her son Frank THOMAS rose to notoriety as a local bushranger in Coorow, Carnamah and surrounding districts ^[P1]
Mother of five STARLING children - Robert, Walter, Eliza Elizabeth, James Joseph and Charles Frederick ^[15]
Mother of five THOMAS children - Mary Agnes, Celia Blanche, Beulah Emily, John Fitzgerald and Francis Henry William ^[15]
Died 12 May 1925; buried at the Geraldton Cemetery in Geraldton, Western Australia (which is now Apex Pioneer Memorial Park) ^[29]
