In 1910 was assisting his brother David in his blacksmithing business in Three Springs ^{[9: 27-May-1910]}
Later entered into partnership with his brother and together they ran the blacksmithing business under the name of "Todd Bros" ^[154]
Todd Bros donated ten shillings and sixpence to the Moora District Hospital Fund during November 1912 ^{[9: 15-Nov-1912]}
Along with Thomas J. BERRIGAN of Three Springs he went to Coorow in October 1914 after rumours of alluvial gold ^{[10: 16-Oct-1914]}
In February 1915 he and his brother closed their blacksmithing business in Three Springs to go gold prospecting ^{[10: 5-Feb-1915]}
Two months later, in April 1915, they were working fixing the boilers and pumps at the Rothsay Mine near Perenjori ^{[10: 23-Apr-1915]}
Returned to Three Springs before leaving again in September 1915 to work repairing mining machinery in Wariedar ^{[10: 1-Oct-1915]}
By September 1917 he had returned to Three Springs ^[10]
Won the "Thread and Needle Race" at the Three Springs Day held in Three Springs on Wednesday 26 September 1917 ^{[10: 5-Oct-1917]}
